How is Critterfence a better animal fence?

How is Critterfence© Different from Conventional Fence?

There are many different types of fencing available for every situation possible, but what makes Critterfence different and better for animals?

When it comes to chain-link, split rail, and wooden fencing, the types and styles of fence available are very limited and it may be harder to narrow down exactly what you would need to combat the wide range of animals out there and most of them also block your view!

Critterfence specializes in high quality, do-it-yourself fence kits that will keep your yard or gardens’ animal free while being nearly invisible so you can keep your view.

Our fencing is all black, as well as the hardware used to install the fencing. Black is more invisible because it does not reflect light as much as silver, brown, or white which are the most common colors found in traditional fencing. With an invisible (yet still physical) fence, you can keep your area secure while keeping your view whether it’s the mountains, the forest, the lake, or the beach you will see your whole yard!

We have a wide variety of opening sizes! Ranging from ¼ inch steel mesh to graduated steel mesh to different types of polypropylenes, you have many more options than other fence types which increases the types of animals you can keep out. There are over 1000 different combinations to make sure you are protecting against all critters out there.

A wide range of installation options are available as well. The most common installation method is using our 16ga galvanized black gloss powder coated steel line posts and ground sleeves! Our no-dig ground sleeves are used for all line posts, corner posts and bracing, and gates. This means no concrete or digging is needed, making installation much easier! Our post and sleeve system also means your fence can be removed for the winter. Simply unlock the screw on the side of the ground sleeve and slide the post out and store for later. If you don’t want to install posts, our polypropylene meshes can be installed onto trees using monofilament cabling.

No-climb attachments for cat containment, coyote exclusion, raccoon exclusion. The main issue with traditional fencing is even with a tall fence, some animals are still able to climb up and over the fence. We found a solution to this! With no-climb extensions installed along the top of your fence, it pushes the top of the fence out at an angle. This means when an animal climbs up, they will end up falling back down without the structure of a straight, solid, fence!

Typically, when you are fighting one type of animal, another comes along and creates a whole new problem like rabbits. For this we created overlap kits to prevent animals from digging under your fence. A secondary barrier that will be either buried or overlap the ground to prevent animals like rabbits, groundhogs, and moles from digging under your fence and getting in, which isn’t typically included with traditional fencing.

Another issue with traditional fencing is animals getting stuck in the fence or hurt. This is a common issue with all types of traditional fencing from deer getting stuck in 4x4 fencing to cats getting stuck in the divots between wooden fence planks. To avoid this, our meshes utilize a smaller opening size, to increase the odds of animals not getting stuck which is safer for the wildlife surrounding you while also keeping them in their habitat.

With the wide range of possibilities, Critterfence can give you more options for securing your yard against the largest range of animals out there over traditional fencing.
